Your daughter is showing owt!

My daughter is 7 years old.

She enjoys playing with her pet guinea pig and listening to Roald Dahl audiobooks. 

She is the product of two black parents, and both myself and her father are 80s babies raised in Detroit. 

She does not dance like this. Why? Because she has NEVER been exposed to anything like it. It is not natural and in my opinion, it is not right. Super sexualized little black girls make my stomach hurt; they should not be popping and grinding their little hips for attention at that age. Why are we teaching our children the same message society is trying to shove down our throats? Why are we validating their existence only as objects for sexual gratification and nothing else? And why are all of these adult women looking on thinking this is cute? 

*shakes head*

I’m going to hug my baby and tell her that she is so more than the body she hasn’t even developed yet.
