The Daily Beast:  an article about Viola Davis’s career and Charlize Theron’s comments which prove Theron completely doesn’t understand what’s happening around her.

Ever since the Oscar Roundtable tumblr has been blowing up about this, rightfully so.  Theron’s comments about Davis being “hot as shit” when she was talking about the role of African American women in Hollywood illustrate the complete disconnect there is between those who are “in” and those who are “out”.  However, this quote, in particular, illustrates why I cannot support The Help in the Oscars race.  No matter how hard it is for an black woman in Hollywood, continuing to do these same roles isn’t making it any easier.  (Now Tyler Perry’s movies, that’s a whole different discussion)
