3-year-old India Durant was known as “The Bus Stop Baby.” The day she was born, India didn’t give her parents a chance to make it to hospital. A neighbor helped deliver her at the BX19 bus stop.
An autopsy showed she died from blunt force trauma to her torso. She was beaten so severely that her liver was lacerated. Her mother was at work and she was left in the care of her mother’s live in boyfriend who was arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter, assault, and reckless endangerment to a child.
Beautiful right? She could’ve been a model, doctor or lawyer. 9-year-old Mya Lyons was murdered by her own father Richard Lyons.
Mya first suffered blunt-trauma injuries — including multiple skull fractures — before she was asphyxiated and stabbed more than 10 times.
Mya, who had been visiting her father for the summer, was stabbed in the neck and abdomen. Richard said he found her lying in an alley about a half block from his home in the 8400 block of South Gilbert Court. He told police that he and a relative rushed her to Jackson Park Hospital in Lyons’ van.
Days later, a bloody knife was found in the alley.
Her father was convicted of her murder and a separate case.

Police, searching for a murder suspect, threw a flash grenade through the window of her family’s apartment around midnight. According to Aiyana’s father, it landed on the couch, setting Aiyana on fire. A police officer’s gun then went off, and shot Aiyana in the neck.
Aiyana was asleep on the living room sofa in her family’s apartment when Detroit police, searching for a homicide suspect, burst in and an officer’s gun went off, fatally striking the girl in the neck, family members said.
Her father, 25-year-old Charles Jones, told The Detroit News he had just gone to bed early Sunday after covering his daughter with her favorite blanket when he heard a flash grenade followed by a gunshot. When he rushed into the living room, he said, police forced him to lie on the ground, with his face in his daughter’s blood.
